I specialize in working with complex and developmental trauma, dissociation and grief with youth and adults. In the course of therapy I may employ a variety of integrative therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic and ego-state/parts work, somatic/body-based approaches such as Deep Brain Reorienting, EMDR, mindfulness and compassion-based approaches, hypnosis, and expressive arts therapy. I work from a relational, feminist, intersectional, anti-racist and anti-oppressive perspective.

I also offer clinical consultation, have authored several book chapters and have contributed to web and print media on the subject of grief. I offer teaching and workshops on grief and loss, its intersection with trauma, and on mindfulness, compassion and self-care.

My Philosophy

All of us face challenges to our wellness, resilience and ability to cope at various times in our lives. Stress, loss, change and sometimes the downstream effects of early life adversity can press in on our present-day life in a way that calls for attention, care and deeper understanding.

I see it as an act of strength and wisdom to seek

All of us face challenges to our wellness, resilience and ability to cope at various times in our lives. Stress, loss, change and sometimes the downstream effects of early life adversity can press in on our present-day life in a way that calls for attention, care and deeper understanding.

I see it as an act of strength and wisdom to seek professional support to assist in finding our way through such difficulties.

All people have innate strengths, gifts and creativity, and can benefit from an empathic, curious, and safe therapeutic relationship through which to explore the material of their life. I am passionate about supporting people of all ages living through adversity, grief and trauma to deepen their relationship to the wisdom within, and to grow and give voice to their experiences.
