I am an Expressive Arts Therapist and Master’s-trained Social Worker with a collaborative certificate in Palliative and Supportive Care and extensive training and experience in mindfulness and trauma resolution.
Having worked in paediatric, youth and adult health, mental health, palliative care and bereavement non-profit agency settings for over a decade, I now maintain a full time private psychotherapy practice.
My practice offers counselling and psychotherapy using a variety of integrative therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, Brainspotting, mindfulness and compassion-based approaches, somatic approaches and expressive arts therapy.
I am passionate about supporting children, youth, adults and families living through adversity, grief and trauma to grow and give voice to their experiences through mindful, whole-body awareness, creativity, art-making and the natural world.
I also offer supervision and clinical consultation, have authored several book chapters and have contributed on the subject of grief to web and print media. I offer teaching and workshops on grief and loss, its intersection with trauma, and on mindfulness, compassion and self-care.
Many of us face challenges to our wellness, resilience and sense of balance at various times in our lives.
During difficult times, we may choose to seek professional support to assist in finding our way through.
I believe that all people have innate strengths, gifts and creativity, and can benefit from an empathic, curious, and safe therapeutic relationship through which to explore the material of their life.
I offer experience, expertise and collaborative care in the following areas:
